Beat the Heat II : Screw Driver, the Orange cocktail and my Plum Screw Version.... and guess who Makes my Day

A Screwdriver is a popular cocktail made with orange juice and vodka. Sometimes it is referred to as "Vodka and Orange". Loved its mention as the most yankee concoction of vodka and orange juice.

The name of the drink, Screwdriver, is a wordplay. In bar lingo, the two main ingredients are called screw (orange juice) and driver (vodka).

Variations

The classic Style - glass full of ice.. 1 part vodka and two parts orange juice best when you are not in the mood of stirring up a lengthy cocktail..

Replacing the flat orange juice with a carbonated orange drink, such as Fanta, produces a cocktail known as a Hi-Fi. A screwdriver in which Tang is substituted for the orange juice is known as a "fuzzy cosmonaut".

To make the beverage more palatable a sweet liquor is often added such as Amaretto. This is often referred to as a Samerreto.

Another variation occurs when the ratio of the components is switched. When mixed as 1 part orange juice and two parts vodka, it is referred to as a Drivescrewer.
The well known Harvey Wallbanger cocktail is a Screwdriver with a splash of Galliano floated on top.

A screwdriver in which the orange juice is replaced with blue Gatorade is a "sonic screwdriver", after the blue-lit device from Doctor Who. Another popular term for any Vodka/Gatorade cocktail is "Vaderade".

Another Variation by me : and i name it Plum Screw

Muddle red plums,2 to 3 sprigs of mint, some lime cordial, gingerale and some honey together, strain it, take one part of this, one part of vodka and one part of orange juice.

Garg was elated with this concoction.... he rated it better than screw driver and the kiwi martini...but bucking bronco was still at number one... will post that one soon....

And now comes the who Makes my Day stuff... Swati of Sugarcraft India passed on the "You Make my Day" award... its such a nice feeling that i came to her mind when she had to think of people who bring a smile to her and make her day... if i deserve even 1% of that credit.. its my pleasure... this makes me think of my varying thoughts through these 2-3 months of blogging... the day i thought of having my own blog.. the thoughts in my mind were that i too make somewhat good food.. i didnt want to miss out on the fun you guys were having ... wanted to maintain a log of my creations... and spend my time in a productive way... whenever i used to see ppl sharing notes of frenship i used to wonder if its all true... does it really exist in this virtual world.. etc etc... but unknowingly i started getting involved with n number of u ppl... u guys started giving my page a notice.. thanks buddies... i feel great.. dont know how long will i be able to continue with this strainous job.. coz am not as hard working like u guys.. but these 2 to three months have been a bliss.. i have been searching for a job too for these two months but things are not falling into place ... somewhere something is jinxed... but you have all made my day every passing day....

why all this MELODRAMA...

hehe.. seriuosly no wonder some ppl call me drama queen and tragedy queen... but all this stuff is simply because i need to mention a speacial thanx to tell each one of you ... who have regularly or even once given a vidit to my place.... left behind some sweet,.. some encouraging... some flattering words... :) thanku thanku thanku... You guys really make my day .... :)

well that line in my melodrama class that whether i will be able to continue blogging or not doesnt make any sense... atleast not now... coz iam enjoying it and would definitely enjoy it for the coming many months and years i guess:)
